| Today, our humans tried their first recipes from this new cookbook. |
Our humans have recently been talking a lot about eating better, a concept which does not make sense to a pug because food is food, right?
Salisbury steak is made from a blend of ground beef and other ingredients, which is then shaped to resemble a steak and is usually smothered with a brown sauce. It was invented by the American physician Dr. J. H. Salisbury and has been called "Salisbury steak" since 1897. Having been invented by an MD, a pug would think that this dish is healthy by default, not that pugs are concerned about facts such as these. Our humans on the other hand seemed to feel the need to find a lower-fat and lower calorie version. From observing their eating dinner very attentively from our posts next to their chairs, they seemed pretty pleased with the culinary results, though maybe not wowed. The male human required more salt ans pepper. All in all, they seemed surprise by the size of the portion and the relative calorie savings. Here is a picture of their dinner, which looked very tasty to a pug:
As usual, we were only allowed to lick the plates. The world is not fair!
